British Farming Awards, Telegraph and BBC Farming Show
Its been a busy summer with lots going on from selecting ewe lamb replacements to wheeling out our hog roast stand at a couple of festivals. The next few months are also busy months on the farm with tupping starting in a few weeks, our ewes having their autumn shear and off the I’ve started at the Royal Agricultural University where I am studying for a graduate diploma.
There are also a couple of exciting things in the pipeline particularly:
British Farming Awards
Its been an honour to be nominated in New Entrant: Against the odds category at the British Farming Awards. The competition is really strong and I don’t expect to win, but the awards evening on the 21st of October is going to be a great night out and I look forward to celebrating with the winner.
I had Tom Ough from the Telegraph come down in early October and it was great to share my journey into farming. He’s an incredibly talented journalist; and his photographer too had me jumping around the field getting the best angle. You can read that article here.
BBC Farming Show
The BBC are following a few of the contestants at the British Farming Awards and providing an oppurtunity for farmers to share their love for agriculture with the general public. The show is featuring different agricultural shows and hearing about the farmers involved in them, how they got into farming and what farming means to them. I can’t wait to share my story with the general public along some other great names, which I believe airs in a couple of months.
